Wild Blue Yonder Cover 3 by Spacefriend-KRUNK Wild Blue Yonder Cover 3 by Spacefriend-KRUNK
Couldn't be happier with this one. I really love the characters of this series - they all seem to come to life rather easily for me. They feel real.

Of course, it helps when supreme badass Nelson Daniel is coloring the book. The work he's is doing on this series is going to melt your brain. =)

So go pre-order this now, animals!

There's something very ... I dunno ... kinda natural about this. You've really captured the feel of a good snapshot; y'know, the sort of snapshot that a friend of the character might keep as their favourite photo of them, if you know what I mean. Great stuff!

Wow that kind of makes your drawings even more intense. You must have to sharpen your pencil/lead A LOT to get those details.

Can I say I really like this cover? Can I say itīs my favourite? Can I say that Gremlin needs a spin off story? Can I say that you donīt get older, just better and better over the years?

Loving it as usual. Always the little details. How over-sized her gloves are, the ridged texture on top of the wing, how the fur on her jacket looks like real animal fur and the shaved side of her head looks fuzzy and soft. And the FUCKING DOG'S MOUTH is absolutely perfect.

I think one of the things I love about your work i that there is a realism in the textures and details that's also balanced by exaggeration and creativity. So many artists that achieve that sense of realism and texture lose their originality because they become slaves to it. You can see their reference pictures in their work and their styles suffer for it.

Inspiring as always.

Haha.  Glad I could help, man!  I firmly believe that art and comics that were labored over with love and attention should be read/consumed in the same manner.  Sure I blast through each book as fast as possible when I first get it to soak in the story, but then I wade through it again and again looking for all the details and nuances (lately I've been obsessed with pages 20-21 from WBY #2, the storytelling and emotion in those two pages alone makes the whole issue for me).

As someone who is struggling to get into the comic art world as well as to move towards making the kind of comics that make a difference and aren't just following in the footsteps of everything that came before, your comics are a sign that there are others out there looking to do the same.  The fact that you speak openly about how you won't dumb down your art to make money is inspiring (although, right now, if someone offered me money to draw a big 2 book i'd take it).  Sadly that type of attitude, although it's one many more artists should adopt, isn't popular.  But it makes those that have it stand out that much more in my eyes.  On the upside you seem to have found a good team to work with in Noble Transmissions, people who support your mindset and probably have a very similar one themselves.

there is nothing wrong with taking what you can get early in your career.  your learning curve is still quite steep and it's nice to be paid while improving your skill set.   however, i don't understand these retards that are just "happy" drawing batman or spiderman or some other dogshit brand.   once you get to level where people will pay you to create, then fucking create something instead of retreading a tire.   i have no respect for people that don't have vision.

however, know that if you plan on following a similar path as my own, know that there are many lonely destitute times ahead.  but it can happen - i know this for fact.  good luck, and thank for all the wonderful thoughts on my work. =)

Yeah, I mean if you're not going to try and bring something new to the table I don't see the point, personally.  I mean you may fail, but at least your trying to do something innovative or original.  You're trying to help the medium evolve and grow, whch is how you're supposed to treat the things you love.  But so many are perfectly happy with the status quo.  They're the ones who have an outburst when anything even semi-original is tried (a huge part of the reason why main characters NEVER die in mainstream comics that writers deciding that their "vision" for the characters is better than the "vision" of those who came before).

And I'm the type if something's not difficult it's not worth doing! Haha.

And you're welcome.  It's the fan's job to let the creator's know how much we appreciate their work.

Any time. As someone who strives to get to the point where I can do this for a living it becomes easier and easier to see who's really putting in the time/effort to not only hone their craft, but also to OWN their craft.
